Suburban London is a surprising place. It’s hard to believe that Eltham Palace is in London. This hidden Palace is a diamond in the rough and an eclectic building of two halves! One half, the medieval palace, was a regular haunt of Henry VIII and carries the stories of his early life as King. The other half was the art deco home of the famous Courtauld family whose extravagant lifestyle is apparent in the well preserved interior. This is a fascinating place to discover well off the tourist trail.
“London is a roost for every bird”
Benjamin Disraeli, 19th century British Prime Minister
